The Hollinger Family

We do have family near Saskatoon, who have graciously offered us a place to stay, but the RMH gives us a place of our “own”, so we never feel like we are intruding on anyone.

“We have been a part of the RMH family since 2017, since our son’s first surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor. Some of our stays are just short overnight stays for appointments while others have been for 1-2 months at a time for surgery, chemo, and radiation, but regardless of the length, the RMH has been a home away from home for us. We do have family near Saskatoon, who have graciously offered us a place to stay, but the RMH gives us a place of our “own”, so we never feel like we are intruding on anyone. We also have the comfort of knowing the other families at RMH are going through a similar situation, which makes it just feel like family. You can feel the love the minute you walk through those doors. The staff and volunteers are amazing, sometimes you just need someone to talk to while making supper or just a friendly smile when you walk in after a long night at the hospital. They do a wonderful job of maintaining the cleanliness with so many people coming and going all the time, everything is so well looked after and organized. We have had to stay over the holidays and Christmas there is so magical, with decorations and Christmas trees on every floor. We didn’t feel like we were missing out. The kids look forward to future stays and to seeing some familiar faces, which makes everything else going on medically feel just a little bit easier.”
