The Gayatenia Family

“Thinking of where to stay can be very stressful when we need to travel to see the medical specialists. My wife and I heard about RMHC-SK from friends. Knowing that this place exsists is a blessing to families in need. It’s one less BIG thing to worry about.”

I’m Armando Gayatenia, I’m the dad, 41 years old. My wife, Cherry Ann Gayatenia, 40 years old. Our kids are Armando III Gayatenia, 9 years old, Aryann Marie Gayatenia, 7 years old and Amari Grace Gayatenia, 2 years old.
Our daughter, Amari Grace Gayatenia was diagnosed with DDiGeorge syndrome.
13 nights so far at RMHC-SK. We are from Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

The news was heartbreaking to the whole family when we first learned of Amari’s illness. Seeing our daughter always sick makes us very sad. RMHC-SK is very close to the children’s hospital. The Ronald McDonald House has a very homey feeling. The staff were really nice. It just adds to the positive outlook when we are here. Meals are prepared as well.

While Amari was sick and in the hospital, RMHC-SK allowed us to celebrate our first daughter’s 6th birthday last year in the House. That was so nice of them that they would go that far to cater to our needs.
